The Friends of Herrick District Library is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging literacy.
Since August of 1999, we have supported Herrick District Library by volunteer activities and fund raising projects for the enhancement of their programs and services. We operate the Book Nook, a gift and used book shop, and sponsor Herrick District Library events.
Financial Contributions The friends also sponsor the Robert Sherwood
Scholarship endowment through Wayne State University School of Information
Science. Information on how to apply for the scholarship funds are available
by contacting Wayne State University's Admission Office.
Membership The Friends have adopted a dues
structure that includes: individual memberships for $15; family, $25; patron, $50; patron couple,
$75; life, $200; life couple, $200; student (full-time) $5; senior citizen, $5; club/organization, $50;
professional, $100; business $100.

Our financial contributions have also helped with the purchase of several items for the library, including a new photocopier and 2 scooters used as grand prizes for the 2001 Summer
Reading Program.
Join the Friends and help us fund special equipment and programs for our library. Membership forms are available at the Information desk at the Main Library.
